One of the things I find myself searching for these days is entertainment that simultaneously elevates. I must say that this type of open vulnerable expression of emotions and skillful conveyance of relatable experiences, in such an engaging manner, fits the bill. I'm not certain if it's my love for supporting young people or my inner child that made "Lil Girl" one of my favorite reads in the book.

Please read page #11 and think for a moment, or whatever time is needed to digest what message the author is saying to us….. Are we in this world that sees no evil, feels no evil, speaks no evil? What message is the author delivering? The author “Protegee of Purpose” is delivering life to the lifeless with people that “had” a voice but were not heard, and has a voice no more….. To me, the author gives voice to the voiceless. (I watched the video documentary of Khalief Browder.) Thank you “Protegee of Purpose”!!! We hear you!!!!

The Black Memorandum by Protegee of Purpose ignited my imagination in the way each poem painted a vivid picture of thought. It prompted me to think in a relaxing and meditative way while motivating my own creativity. It is a beautiful literary collection of expression that goes perfectly with a cup of tea or coffee at the beginning or ending of your day.

“The Black Memorandum” is the first book of poetry that I have come across, which left me wanting more! The way Protegee of Purpose articulates her words so seamlessly and makes you feel her emotions with every sentence you read is beyond anything I have ever read.

It's messages like these that keep me going... especially while going through what I'm learning to call "transitioning times" instead of 'tiresome' or 'challenging times.'
